SELOC Weekly Club Night

SELOC has recently been selected by British Orienteering to be part of a national ‘Increasing Participation Project’. The main focus of the project is to develop a weekly club night to provide orienteering activities from a fixed location. It is hoped that the new club night will be accessible to the local community and its families and provide activities for beginners and newcomers to the sport, as well as for existing club members.

The new weekly club night will be starting on Monday 29th June from 6:30pm – 8pm at Eagley Junior School, Chapeltown Road, Bromley Cross, Bolton, BL7 9AT.

At the club night, we will run a range of activities aimed at improving your navigation skills as well as your fitness, that people of any age or fitness ability can join in. The activities will be suitable for people of all levels of experience, from beginners upwards. These may be held indoors or outdoors at the school, depending on the weather and occasionally we will use other local orienteering areas for our activities. There will also be an opportunity to relax over refreshments after the activities.

There will be a small charge for the club night of £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for children (children under 10yrs must be accompanied by an adult). Any families with 3 or more individuals will cost £4.00.

The club night is about to be widely advertised in the local schools and community and beyond, including at our event at Lever Park on 28th June, with the aim of attracting more newcomers to the club nights from 29th June onwards.
