The fine weather helped to make it a good day for orienteering, and no one was distracted by the steady drone from the busy race circuit. It was difficult trying to fit the technical course onto the small area, hence the use of a Norwegian course. As I returned from putting the controls out, I was pleasantly surprised to see so many people gathered around the registration tent, but hoped that there would be enough maps for everyone. Fortunately there was and everyone seemed to enjoy their run out. Thanks to everyone that came along to help out on the day: namely Stephen Richards, Kev Latham, Beryl Blackhall, Pete & Lisa Kidd. Your help was invaluable, not only with putting out and collecting in controls, but setting up/dismantling the registration & start area, and providing excellent coaching advice to so many newcomers.
Eric.
