However, SELOC members still found plenty of places to go. Biggest turnout of the weekend was at SYO\u2019s Ramsley Moor event, where dismal weather didn\u2019t deter Kev Latham (18<sup>th<\/sup> on Short Brown course), Michael Hood (19<sup>th<\/sup> on Blue) or John Nuttall (38<sup>th<\/sup> on Green). Hope they\u2019ve all dried off by now.<\/p>\n<p>In the week, Ed Mellor found his way to LOC\u2019s Wednesday night event in Ingleton, which was billed as urban though I\u2019m not sure local estate agents would thank them for that. He did the long course, finishing 14<sup>th<\/sup>. Then on Thursday Albert Sunter was our only representative at MDOC\u2019s Altrincham street league event, running with Jordan and placing 42<sup>nd<\/sup> on unadjusted scores.<\/p>\n<h5><strong><u>SELOC Club League<\/u><\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>There are effectively just 2 League events to go as only one from PFO can count to avoid unfair advantage (their night league and regional event are both at Holcombe Ranges on consecutive days). So will you maximise points by exploiting the scoring system and doing the night event, where a lower turnout may offer better scores, or look for a nice clean, fast run at the daytime one?<\/p>\n<p>Then all to play for at EPOC\u2019s Newmillerdam event the Sunday before Christmas <strong>23 December<\/strong> prior to the prizegiving at SELOC\u2019s Christmas event (details coming soon but pencil in <strong>27 December<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<h5><strong><u>Upcoming Events<\/u><\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The UK Urban League is the only major UK trophy still to be decided and the final event takes place in Derby on <strong>Sunday 9 December<\/strong>. Alternatively, LOC have a park sprint at Brockholes, Windermere if anyone fancies the rare opportunity for a blast round a Lake District area. Before that we have street events from both SROC (Carnforth, and a counter in SROC Street League) and LOC (Windermere) on <strong>Wednesday 5<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong> followed by a DEE night street event on <strong>Thursday 6<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong> at Appleton, just south of Warrington. <strong>Saturday 8<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong> brings another MDOC Park + Urban event in Bramhall, Stockport.<\/p>\n<p>The following week sees midweek night events from MDOC (another Street League, in Romiley on <strong>Tuesday 11<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong>) and LOC (in terrain, near Kendal on <strong>Wednesday 12<sup>th<\/sup><\/strong>) before we get into PFO\u2019s weekend of events on our doorstep at Holcombe Ranges on <strong>15\/16 December<\/strong>. As mentioned, one of these will count in the SELOC Club League but it will be the night event if you do both in order to prevent any unfair knowledge of the terrain. If they don\u2019t want to try and investigate the night\u2019s errors with the benefit of daylight, keenies could manage the night event then head to The Dukeries for NOC\u2019s event on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Further ahead<\/strong> <strong>into 2019<\/strong>, events making up both the UK O League and the UK Urban League have been announced, so you can start planning your bids to succeed in these prestigious competitions.
