SELOC Club League 2020
These were the pre-lockdown scores, unfortunately we have not been able to do much more and all the events we had planned for the calendar have been cancelled.
What should we do with this? The options are
A) – to wipe the slate clean and start again as soon as we are able
or
B) – Carry these results into next years Club League
Let us know your thoughts…..

Principles:
General
The league will run throughout the year with Champions to be declared at the Christmas event. Participation is limited to SELOC club members of all age categories
There are 4 SELOC categories of event:
- Classic – daylight forest or moorland, long or middle-distance
- Urban or Sprint – including park
- Street – SROC League or similar format
- Other – includes night, score, holiday and ultra-long events
Scoring
- Each participant’s best 6 scores will count toward the rankings
- these must include scores from at least 2 of the categories
- Ranking is by lowest totals
- for this purpose, a score of 100 applies for each event that a participating member is short of the required 6
- The scoring system has been revised for this year and is now as follows:
- For each event, your score is your finishing position on the Course you ran as a percentage of Competitive Starters recorded in the results
- percentages are rounded down except that 1.0 is the lowest score that can awarded (but note that you would have to be 1st in a field of over 100 (or top 2 in over 200…), to beat that)
- for the avoidance of doubt, Mispunches, Non-finishers and Disqualifications are included in the numbers for event results, but Non-starters and Non-competitive runs are excluded
- Worked example: you run a course with pre-entries of 35;
- of these 5 do not start (= 30 start),
- 4 mispunch,
- 3 run non-competitively,
- 2 retire and do not finish
- 1 is disqualified for crossing out-of-bounds
- the number of Competitive Starters is 35 – 5 – 3 = 27
- you finish 8th, giving your points = 8*100/27 = 29.63, rounded down to 29
2019
Remember – This year you were able to include your own personal best-day for a multi-day ‘holiday’ event of your choice from:
- The Jan Kjellström Festival (April)
- Springtime in Shropshire (May)
- Scottish 6 days (July-August)
- Race the Castles / White Rose (August).
