The first event in this year’s Saturday series will take place on 2nd February 2019 at Lever Park, Horwich.

These local Saturday afternoon events are ideal for newcomers to the sport, as well as offering a technical course for more established orienteers.

Certificates will be available for all juniors and if you attend more than one of the series there will be prizes to collect.

Parking is at Great House Barn / Lower Barn, Rivington, BL6 7SB (with an opportunity for post-run refreshment at the cafe!).

Registration is from 1130-1300, Starts from 1200-1400.

Entry Fee is £4 for adults, £2 juniors, SI card hire is free (though there is a charge for lost cards)

As usual, there will a choice of three courses:

• Yellow 2.2km (ideal for newcomers and younger juniors)
• Orange 3.0km (slightly longer and slightly more tricky navigation, ideal for older juniors and adults new to the sport)
• Technical 3.8km (offering more navigational challenge and length for those who have orienteered before)

New for 2019, these Saturday afternoon events will take place in clusters within three different geographical areas. After Lever Park, we move onto Haigh Country Park the following week (9th February 2019) and on to the Bury area in April.
